I love God & my family. Some of my hobbies include; natural hair, music, fashion, and did I mention natural hair. I am the ultimate girlie girl; I love dressing up, doing hair, makeup, fashion and SHOES. I value family, life, embrace self acceptance and cherish the things God give me to steward. I am optimistic and also a skeptic. It cost absolutely nothing to be positive or negative, I choose to be positive. This blog will incorporate a mixture of things that I am most passionate about. The main focus is hair but I will throw other things in there every once in a while. Please feel free to comment and ask questions, I LOVE QUESTIONS! Since going natural I have been glued to my laptop, I enjoy networking with other naturals who share the same love and respect for natural hair. My goal is to reach waist length hair by Aug 23, 2013. Thank you for stopping by Peace & blessings. Happy growing!!!!

Tips naturals need to know about natural hair

Being natural I have also become aware, it's like seeing the world for the very first time, things I once overlooked are now an important part of my regimen. If you are transitioning, thinking of transitioning, a newbie, or already natural there are a few things you must know.
  1.  Water is your friend not your enemy
  2.  Black hair is prone to dryness, so its very important to keep it moisturized at all times.
  3. Natural hair is very fragile so handle it with care.
  4. Toss the tight bristle combs and replace them with wide tooth comb ( I use plastic picks)
  5. Comb/detangle hair ONLY when it has conditioner in it, never comb while dry.
  6.  Gently comb hair from tip to root.
  7.  *do not comb against hair growth direction, this will pull your hair out; http://www.growafrohairlong.com/combbrush.html
  8. Working in sections makes getting through the entire head easier
  9. Silk bonnet helps tremendously at night
  10.  Always keep your scalp clean and clear of products and buildup
  11.  Deep condition/deep treatment (DT)  at least 1x monthly
  12.  DO NOT curse or get mad at your hair.
