I love God & my family. Some of my hobbies include; natural hair, music, fashion, and did I mention natural hair. I am the ultimate girlie girl; I love dressing up, doing hair, makeup, fashion and SHOES. I value family, life, embrace self acceptance and cherish the things God give me to steward. I am optimistic and also a skeptic. It cost absolutely nothing to be positive or negative, I choose to be positive. This blog will incorporate a mixture of things that I am most passionate about. The main focus is hair but I will throw other things in there every once in a while. Please feel free to comment and ask questions, I LOVE QUESTIONS! Since going natural I have been glued to my laptop, I enjoy networking with other naturals who share the same love and respect for natural hair. My goal is to reach waist length hair by Aug 23, 2013. Thank you for stopping by Peace & blessings. Happy growing!!!!

Last night was the Red Light Lounge show and as booking agent I always want to dress for my title. I braided my hair wet after sealing it with my butter and went on with my day. Unfortunately by the time it was time to get ready my hair hadn't completely dried so my braid out failed. The wonderful thing about natural hair is one failed style opens ideas for a better one. I took down the damp braids, pined my hair to the side, pulled on the hair for volume and I was please beyond my expectations.
I wore my skin tight blue dress for the first time along with some tights (it has been COLD at night in cali), my ankle boots, and my grey blazer. My makeup was different shades of blues along with shimmers that popped. The liquid eye liner shaped my eyes perfectly and the combo brought out my brown eyes.

Product of the week: Karen Body Beautiful hair butter

new design now called "butter love"
 Every so often I come across a product that pleases me so much that it's price don't matter; I will tray away but we always find myself falling back in love with it when we reuse it. That product for me is Karens Body Beautiful; yesterday was my wash day, I washed with boners soap, condished with suave Shea and almond, applied kimmaytubes leave in then sealed with KBB hair butter. I am on my second jar since becoming natural because A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY, (I love this aspect of this product, my money is well spent). Currently I am trying the Egyptian Musk scent and personally I don't think there is a scent that doesn't smell divine. My first jar was of the coco lime and I was in love so I decided to try the others, but I have yet to smell something that tops the coco lime scent. Aside the scent this product is made out of natural ingredients and packed with yummy butters my hair LOVES. It leaves my hair SOFT, non greasy and smelling wonderful for days! As long as KBB is in business they have a customer for life.

Ingredients: Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Mango Butter, Jojoba Butter, Aloe Butter, Essential and/or Fragrance Oils, Grapefruit Seed Oil & Vitamin E

My new found love for braidouts

Hey Queens,

I know it has been I minute (forgive me) I had to take time out to catch you up on my current hair progress. I took my braids out last week, treat it, and decided to do a braid out; I prefer them over twist  out because I get more length and definition with braids. I wore the braids for one day then took them out, I wore them defined (without separating) to work so I can save the style for  later that day (it was one of my besty's birthday celebration).

 That night I separated them to get volume and loved the results. I love being able to whip my hair back and forth when dancing or just because it's MY HAIR.....and I do whip it lol!!

That night I simply did huge braids, wrapped my hair with satin silk scarf and went to bed, the next day I took the braids out and they were even more stretched and defined. I love this method.
next day hair

What I used;
1. whupped shea butter

2. cantu shea butter leave in
 3. castor oil (when taking braids out)

What I learned;
1. castor oil gives natural shine and softness
2. Don't be afraid to re braid hair at night to save my braid out throughout the week.
