I love God & my family. Some of my hobbies include; natural hair, music, fashion, and did I mention natural hair. I am the ultimate girlie girl; I love dressing up, doing hair, makeup, fashion and SHOES. I value family, life, embrace self acceptance and cherish the things God give me to steward. I am optimistic and also a skeptic. It cost absolutely nothing to be positive or negative, I choose to be positive. This blog will incorporate a mixture of things that I am most passionate about. The main focus is hair but I will throw other things in there every once in a while. Please feel free to comment and ask questions, I LOVE QUESTIONS! Since going natural I have been glued to my laptop, I enjoy networking with other naturals who share the same love and respect for natural hair. My goal is to reach waist length hair by Aug 23, 2013. Thank you for stopping by Peace & blessings. Happy growing!!!!

When Natural hair gets Positive Attention

Two natural related stories that placed a pleasant smile on my face today. I wore  my hair in two flat twists on stretched hair, the style was simple but cute (like all other natural styles)

while getting pumping gas a brotha says,

"hey sista, what made you wanna wear your hair natural like that?"
I answered,

"Just me growing up into a woman and being comfortable in my own skin not having to rely on other peoples hair to feel beautiful"

He says with a proud smile on his face,
"that's BEAUTIFUL, you dont see sistas rocking their hair natural often"

Later that day I was walking out of my religious studies class and the only brotha in that class walks up to me and says,
"where is your fro?"
He was referring to the braid-out I wore to  class last week (refer to braid out post)
this is the style i wore

I replied that I wanted to change things up today and that rocking a "fro" is time consuming, time that I didn't have today. He then confesses  that when he seen my hair last week he thought,
" yea she got skills"
He insisted I wore it like that again next week.

whether or not I get compliments they give me another reason to love and enjoy my naturalness and I am only 1 and half year into my journey. I am afraid of the kind of remarks I'm gonna get once I have the MASSIVE fro
